National Geographic leads a global initiative against the misuse of plastic
National Geographic takes a step towards sustainability and eliminates the plastic from the envelope in which subscribers receive their magazine every month. Replacing it with recycled paper is a small change that will save thousands of single-use plastic bags from making their way out into the environment.
The new paper envelope is part of the global initiative that will launch with the cover article of the June 2018 issue, “Planet or Plastic?”. This extensive report covers plastic pollution, analyzes its effects on living things, and offers a few solutions that would help us decrease our dependence on this ever-present material.
